Description

Species Name:
Ilterai, scientific name Spinosaurus Sapiens.
Previous scientific name Spinosaurus Natatorus, until discovery of sapience prompted a change.

Gender Ratio:

An Ilterai's gender is determined by the temperature of the nest while in growing in its egg. Because of this, their ratio is skewed to about five females for every male, of an 80/20 ratio.

Dimorphism:

Males are larger than females, often a few inches taller and a couple feet longer. A male's skin also becomes much brighter during mating season.

Height:

Ilterai are indeterminate growers, and thus there is no general height for all Ilterai. However, those who just out of childhood and are done with the larger growth spurts average at around 64-72 inches (5' 4” to 6') or one and a half to two meters.

Lifespan:

While infant mortality rate is high due to their environment, Those that live past their first year have an avearage lifespan of 70-80 years. Medical care for Ilterai is still very new and unprecise, but there are studies that estimate thair lifespan could be expanded to even 150 years.

Diet:

Ilterai are strict carnivores, although a majority of their diet consists of fish, Ilterai are not picky and are willing to eat anything they can get their jaws on. While they can stomach certain plants, they're unable to digest them and so get not nutrients from it.

Skin Colors:

Varying shades of blue and green are the most common colors. While relatively rare, those who live on land are more often shades of golden yellow, or a dark red.

Markings/Patterns:

It's very rare for an Ilterai to be one solid color. Most often they will at least have a darker color on their legs and fins. These markings are often irregular, coming in solid chunks, patches, or streaks. Some Ilterai may also have a third, lighter color, often as small spots or streaks along their sides and in the middle of their fins.

Eye Colors:

Ilterai only have two eye colors, yellow and green. Yellow is common, while green is rare.
